This policy explains what B2R Technologies ("we", "us") collects when you use Caption Cut or visit caption-cut.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Caption Cut runs locally. We have no access to, and never receive:
There is no account to create, no cloud storage, and no upload step. The application does not transmit your media anywhere.
When you purchase a Pro licence, we hold:
That is the complete list. We do not build a profile, and we do not track how you use the application.
We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing email.
Your licence key carries a cryptographic signature that the application verifies on your own device. Caption Cut does not contact a licence server, and no activation, device identifier or usage data is sent to us. Activation works with the network switched off.
Caption Cut downloads speech recognition models to your computer the first time you need them. These are fetched from public model repositories. The request tells the host that a download was made, as any file download does; it does not contain your media or identify you as a Caption Cut customer. Once downloaded, models run offline and are reused.
Each is used strictly to complete a purchase or deliver software. None receives your media.
caption-cut.com does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track visitors across sites. Paddle's checkout sets cookies necessary to process your payment securely; these are governed by Paddle's privacy policy.
The application stores your preferences — theme, layout, waveform colour, recent projects — in local storage on your own computer. This never leaves your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the application.
The limited purchase data we hold is stored on infrastructure operated by Cloudflare, protected by access controls and encrypted in transit. Because we deliberately collect so little, there is very little to lose in the event of a breach: no media, no passwords, and no payment details are held by us.
We keep your email address and licence record for as long as your licence is valid, so that we can re-issue your key and support you. Since the licence is perpetual, this is indefinite unless you ask us to delete it. Support correspondence is kept for up to two years. Paddle retains transaction records for the period required by tax law, independently of us.

Caption Cut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We operate from India and use service providers located in the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. Where your data is transferred internationally, it is protected by the safeguards those providers have in place, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above will change when we do, and material changes will be noted on this page.
