These Terms of Service govern your use of Caption Cut, a desktop application published by B2R Technologies ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using Caption Cut, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the software.
Caption Cut is a desktop application for macOS and Windows that generates, edits and exports subtitles and captions for audio and video files. It includes speech transcription, subtitle timing and editing tools, translation, karaoke and lyric video rendering, and batch processing.
All processing runs locally on your own computer using AI models downloaded to your device. Your media files are not uploaded to us or to any third party as part of normal operation.
Caption Cut does not require you to create an account, sign in, or connect to our servers to work. A licence key is issued to your email address at the time of purchase and is verified on your own device.
Caption Cut includes a 3-day free trial so you can evaluate the software before buying. The trial provides access to Pro features for its duration. No payment details are required to start it, and it does not convert into a paid plan or charge you automatically when it ends.
The Caption Cut Pro licence is a one-time purchase of USD $15 (₹1299 in India). It is not a subscription: there is no recurring charge, no renewal, and nothing to cancel.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record and authorised reseller for Caption Cut. Paddle handles the transaction, issues your invoice, and is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable sales tax or VAT. Paddle will appear as the merchant on your bank or card statement.
Prices are shown in US dollars and are exclusive of tax. Any sales tax, VAT or GST applicable in your country is calculated and added by Paddle at checkout, and is shown to you before you pay.

You agree not to use Caption Cut to:
You retain full ownership of every file you process with Caption Cut, and of every subtitle, transcript and video you export from it. We claim no rights over your media or your output, and because processing is local we do not receive it.
Caption Cut, its name, logo, interface and underlying software are the property of B2R Technologies and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your licence grants you a right to use the software; it does not transfer ownership of it.
Caption Cut includes third-party open-source components, each used under its own licence. A list of these components and their licences is available on request from the contact address below.
Transcription and translation are produced by machine learning models and will not always be accurate. Accuracy varies with audio quality, background noise, accent, language and subject matter. Caption Cut provides editing tools precisely because output needs review.
You are responsible for checking any subtitles before publishing, broadcasting or relying on them, including where accuracy is required for accessibility compliance or legal purposes.
Because Caption Cut runs on your own computer, it continues to work whether or not our website is reachable. We may release updates that add, change or remove features. We aim to give notice of significant changes through the application's release notes.
Caption Cut is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, B2R Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use Caption Cut.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for your licence.
You are responsible for keeping backups of your media and project files.
Your licence remains valid unless you breach these terms in a material way, such as by sharing or reselling licence keys, or by obtaining a licence fraudulently. We may terminate a licence in those circumstances. You may stop using Caption Cut and uninstall it at any time.
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Caption Cut after an update means you accept the revised terms. Changes will not apply retroactively to a purchase already made.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
